Many academic departments do not have the budget or resources to invest in publishing academic journals and monographs.  We can help.  Binghamton University is pleased to offer its Academic Publishing Services office to assist you with the publication of your manuscripts.

 

Services include:
  • Word processing/Disk conversion
  • Editing and proofreading
  • Creation of galleys and galley proofreading
  • Creation / Design of camera-ready pages
  • Photo sizing
  • Cost estimating
  • Blueline proofing
  • Archiving
Experience:

Production Manager, Lori Vandermark, has twenty years of publishing experience. For more than ten years, she has focused on scholarly publishing, including work on journals such as:

Recent monographs include The Riverside Milton edited by Roy Flannagan, English Handwriting 1400-1650: An Introductory Manual by Jean F. Preston and Laetitia Yeandle, Reconsidering the Renaissance by Mario A. DiCesare, and several CEMERS Conference volumes.

What we can provide:

We can provide any or all of the following services:

  •   Input your manuscript or clean-up files submitted on disk (manuscript must be submitted in word processing software).
  •   Proofread and edit your manuscript using specified style guide.
  •   Create galley files with in-house design approved by you.
  •   Send galleys to you for review.
  •   Upon return, input corrections, design pages and return for your final review and approval.
  •   Upon return, input final corrections.
  •   Output manuscript at 1200 dpi, camera-ready for printing.
  •   Send journal to printer.
  •   Check blueprints / silver prints and sign off with printer.

 

On-Site Training

 

Lori Vandermark will come to your office to train you or your personnel in various phases of production and / or to teach typesetting techniques so that you may design and typeset your manuscript.
